DE-25
Decontaminant for industrial equipments
Description
PROLAB's DE-25 is a concentrated formula decontaminant designed to chemically clean industrial equipment such as gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic systems, etc...
Characteristics and Benefits
PROLAB's DE-25 decontaminant has a deep cleaning action, it dislodges varnish build-up stuck on metal parts, dissolves and disperses sludge and carbon accumulations due to oxidized oil breakdown.
DE-25 decontaminant is fully soluble in conventional mineral oils as well as in synthetic oils with a hydrocarbon base such as PAO, or with an ester or diester base.
DE-25 decontaminant cleans equipment while in operation which considerably reduces down time usually required for cleaning. The only time the equipment is idle is for draining and fill-up with new lubricant.
Safe for user : mild odour, high flash point. Does not contain heavy metals, no chlorinated solvent.
Types of Application
Use PROLAB's DE-25 decontaminant in the following equipments: gearboxes (straight or worm), hydraulic systems, compressors, oil lubricated bearings, air conduits, pumps and vacuum pumps, heat transfer units, manual and automatic transmissions, differentials, valves, master cylinder reservoirs and chains.

Compatibilities
PROLAB's DE-25 decontaminant for industrial equipment is compatible with most elastomer seals and industrial paints.
Directions for Use
Substitute from 5 to 10% of actual lubricant with an equal volume of DE-25. Let the equipment run (Refer to the following chart for the proper amount of time required depending on temperatures and concentration ratio). It is recommended to change the oil filter before and after using DE-25 decontaminant.
Certain filters have a pressure gage; under normal circumstances the indication of a pressure loss of 10 psi signifies the need to change the oil filter.
After the required running time has elapsed, let the equipment cool down to 60°C (140°F) so as to make sure that the draining is as efficient as possible.
When draining is completed, run the equipment with clean oil using the recommended viscosity; fill up to the required level and let circulate or splash.
In equipment such as gearboxes, let run until maximum speed is reached. For compressors, it is recommended not to let run for more than 1 hour.
Notes
New oil will last much longer in a clean system with a low TAN (Total Acid Number). Whenever possible proceed with a TAN reading from the oil used for draining the equipment. The TAN reading should be lower than 0,5 mg KOH / gram sampled.
DE-25 decontaminant is not a lubricant in itself: it must be mixed with the lubricant already in the equipment.
Warning
Do not use DE-25 decontaminant in ammonia compressors.
